Work Hard, Play Hard

From manual labour to labour pains, it doesn’t ever seem like anything with the word “labour” in it could bring joy. Unless, of course, you’re talking about the upcoming Labour Day holiday, and the accompanying long weekend that we all deserve (except for the consistent MC kings and queens). To all who have worked hard, here’s a virtual pat on the back, and my wish that your boss will acknowledge your invaluable effort at work *cough cough*.

This week, I’m pleased to announce some exciting Aries Gold developments, like how we’ve been kept busy coordinating with our new Vienna team regarding the upcoming designs for a new collaboration with yet another international rock band. As you all might know, Vienna is a hotbed for international musicians, making it a natural go-to for us, in terms of gathering design inspirations.

Of course, it’s also a good excuse to get away from the hustle and bustle of Singapore, in case all the work pressure gets to our heads and we start shoving old men at hawker centres who simply want a seat at a table – Google “Toa Payoh couple” if you have no idea what I’m talking about. On the matter of socially acceptable behaviour, we’ve always valued ethics in our watchmaking business, even above the virtues of hard work. Because there’s no point producing great timepieces and enjoying business success, if our behaviour is morally out of line.

That’s also why we practise equal employment opportunities at the office, and a system that rewards based on meritocracy, no matter if you’re a Singaporean, Malaysian, or Martian. Now before I sign off, here’s a work matter to consider. We’re looking to expand our team, so if you feel like you’re the next hotshot watch designer, a marketer with grand plans, or someone who could help our team on the path to global recognition, drop us an email at info@ariesgold.com with your CV and portfolio.
