Make it, don't fake it.

What’s the difference between a $2 note and a $3 note? For those of you who answered that the value is different, let’s just say that a $3 note doesn’t exist (gotcha!) and hence has to be fake. On the topic of fakes, I’d like to bring up this incident on how there are counterfeit Aries Gold watches in circulation right now. And while they say imitation is the best form of flattery, the extreme lack of quality in these fakes makes it hard to agree – it’s like friends comparing a worse-looking version of yourself to you, even though that person’s nose is obviously flatter and has oil oozing out of his/her skin like an overzealously deep-fried goreng pisang.

So what happened is that Instagram account @nevadacolection posted photos of badly designed watches carrying the Aries Gold logo. Then, someone tagged our official account with a watch that clearly doesn’t belong to our collection, leading to the inevitable report lodged for legal infringement and violation of Instagram’s code of conduct. Now, our team at Aries Gold holds our products to the highest design and manufacturing standards, and don’t want people to get the wrong impression that we’re cutting corners to save on production expenses.

For the benefit of our fans out there, here’s how you can spot an Aries Gold fake versus the real deal, from use of inferior leather, right down to the wrong corporate typeface on our logo:

Remember, all you have to do is check the list of authorised retailers on our official website, and verify if the design of your watch is a genuine factory production. Register your warranty on our website too, and continue to enjoy our inspirations built to last. Unless you’re into wearing fakes of course; in that case we’d gladly sponsor a trip to a 6-month Changi holiday camp for you :)
